Calligraphy Supplies

I’m always on the hunt for sourcing calligraphy supplies that others from outside of the UK recommend. Here’s where you’ll find some of what you need. If you’re looking for something I haven’t included, just drop me a line and I’ll see what I can do!

I love to use the gold colors of Finetec, although not easiliy available in the UK, but can be ordered at http://www.coliro.de. Handmade and very good quality! Just, if you want to give it a try…

Thanks, Robert. Yes, I emailed the Fine Tec team a couple of days ago because I keep seeing people rave about it on Instagram, and I’m travelling through Germany at the moment. I hoped I could find a local stockist in Germany; however, because there wasn’t one, I bit the bullet and ordered online. Looking forward to trying them. I know quite a few UK-based calligraphers who would love to see this product stocked locally. Thanks for sharing. Kate

Hi
I am sure you are aware that there are a couple of suppliers of both calligraphy inks , pens, paper etc (Blots and Scribblers ) and calligraphity.com has the biggest stock of calligraphy books in the Uk from all over the world .

    Hi Lynn

Thanks so much for this info. I regularly shop at Blots and Scribblers for supplies (although I haven’t bought calligraphy books from them). I also have recently found Penman Direct, which has a good range of products, too (including a nice looking oblique holder, if you’re into that kind of thing). I hadn’t heard of Calligraphity (the link you shared doesn’t seem to work at the moment, but found it via one of their other About Us page via Google search). The website itself isn’t as user friendly as others, but certainly looks to be a treasure trove of resources.

Please do keep in touch with any other suggestions for beginners on the hunt for resources and supplies.

    Regards
    Kate
